Vinnie’s Story

Vinnie is something special in the group — the quiet, steady presence who seems to hold everything together without ever asking for recognition.
He has taken on the role of the maternal “mother” figure to all the boys, stepping in whenever there’s tension or uncertainty. If a disagreement starts to form, Vinnie is usually there first — calmly easing the situation and restoring peace in his own gentle way. He grooms the others, hovers nearby like a watchful mother hen, and has a way of making even the newest arrivals feel safe and accepted almost immediately. No matter who comes in, Vinnie takes them under his wing. There isn’t an ounce of aggression in him — just patience, calm, and quiet leadership.
Of course, he’s not all seriousness. Vinnie is very food-oriented and takes meal times seriously. He will happily eat his own portion, then move on to checking everyone else’s bowls, licking them out whether they are finished or not — nothing gets wasted if Vinnie has anything to say about it.
Recently, Vinnie has been recovering from an infection that affected his already compromised lungs. It was a worrying setback, but he has responded well to treatment. The antibiotics have done their job, and his breathing is now back under control. He’s once again settled into his familiar role — keeping watch, keeping peace, and keeping a close eye on anything edible within reach.
